Community Grant Programs
Jenny has helped many borrowers get into a home through special community grant programs available to first-time homebuyers. A first-time home buyer grant is a grant specifically for/targeted at those buying their first home — perhaps a starter home. The first-time home buyer does not hold an obligation to repay the grant. First-time home buyer grants are typically awarded based on a few criteria, primarily financial need and income qualifications.
Grants can be given out by foundations and governments. Jenny works with many Texas cities and organizations as an authorized lender and can help you receive down payment and closing cost assistance to buy your first home. Read below for specific grant programs now available.
The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)
 One of the longest-running programs of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the CDBG funds local community development activities such as affordable housing, anti-poverty programs, and infrastructure development. The Homebuyer Assistance Program
provides down-payment and closing cost assistance to low and moderate-income families purchasing a home in target neighborhoods.
